I had the day off. I walked through Tompkins Square for coffee then down into the Lower East Side for guitar strings. The shop was closed so I looped back up to the spot on 4th Street. It’s been a grey, elephant skin day. I changed the strings on my acoustic, the $100 Epiphone with the cracked body… character, I remember thinking. I began playing and this came out, a sort of meditation of a pop song. I feel it’s the beginning of something formal. Music hasn’t been formal for me for a while, so it’s exciting. Looking forward to recording vocals this week and following the evolution of it…
